Velvet is typically made from woven fibres, most commonly cotton or rayon. Rayon velvet tends to be softer and more lustrous than cotton velvet.

To maintain the quality of your velvet items, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive rubbing which can damage the pile.

Velvet itself isn’t inherently hypoallergenic but certain synthetic velvets are available that offer improved breathability and reduced allergen build-up compared to traditional wool options.
